Stone Mountain
So earlier in the week I discovered Stone Mountain was running a special that teachers could get in for free and bring up to 6 guests with them for only $20. Adam couldn't go, but since it was free and the girl's were already free I decided to just go ahead and go. I was afraid it was going to rain but it held off! We weren't there for too long because it was HOT, we got there later than planned, and there was only so much I could do with the girls by myself. We got there and then got our tickets, then I decided that it would be best if we went ahead and ate lunch. It was a little early, but not too bad. We beat the crowd which is what I
wanted anyways. We ate at Miss Katie's and they plopped down some fried pickles (yuck), fried onion slivers (YUCK), and some bits of sweet potatoes. Before I could stop her Reagan grabbed a fried pickle because she thought it was chicken. She did not care for it AT ALL! Kathryn had the sweet potatoes and LOVED them! She couldn't get enough of them! I have to admit that I was SO PROUD of them! They didn't pitch a fit, Reagan said thank you when it was appropriate for her too, and they both smiled at anyone who looked at them. It was the perfect time for them to misbehave but they didn't and made me so proud!
So after lunch, we walked around a bit and we looked at the mountain, watched the train go by, and took some pictures. Reagan even got her camera out to take some pics! We only stayed for about 3 hours which I would have wanted to stay much longer if we had paid but it was free, it was getting close to naptime, and to be quite honest it was HOT :-)

Oh Betsy,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful day for you and your girls. I know you are so proud of them and it sounds like they really made mama proud that day. How fun for you and those precious babies. Blessings to you all!
Do you know if they still do the laser light show on the mountain at night? I always loved going to that when we'd visit Atlanta.
ReplyDeleteThey sure do! If we hadn't had things to do I would have gone later and stayed for the laser light show!
